Tech Tip: Mechanical Release
Our printers have electronically locked doors, but there’s also a mechanical release button on the front panel that allows you to open the door with or without power. Forcing the door open without using this button — or during shipping when the printer is upside down — can lead to serious damage. In addition, never leave media in the printer when transporting or shipping.
Pro Tip: Use the mechanical release button on the front to safely open the door. You may also add a note to your units: “This printer is electronically locked when closed. Use the front mechanical button to open the door. Never force open the unit.” Click here if you need more technical support.
Cleaning the Printhead
Noticing marks or streaks on your KSF-10R prints? It might be time to give your printhead a quick clean.
First, press the mechanical release button to open the printer. Then use a microfiber cloth to gently wipe the print head as shown in this video. If lines remain visible after previous steps, clean with a cleaning swab.
